Whitby jet is the fossilised wood of the Araucaria tree and is approx 180 million years old.
Found only in a small area along the North East coast near Whitby.
We have obtained a small quantity of this rare material - It has been crushed to a very fine powder with some larger pieces and sold in 1g packs.
