As far as wood blanks go, these are great. Big and thick enough to do even large rings with. And delivery is fast! The finished product looks great too but bear in mind that you need to work them carefully. I'm no expert so I could be doing something wrong but the wood has a tendency to roll over when using the lathe and they sand VERY quickly so be aware of that. it's lighter, both in colour and weight, than British walnut. When finished, the wood has a certain quality to it that makes it very pleasant to look at.
These wood blanks are lovely. The wood is easy to work and produces a nice grain that sands well to a smooth and fine finish with nice, subtle contrasts on the rings of the wood. If you use CA glue or something similar to protect, it looks amazing too.
